A Clean Break

No one wants to move into a dank and dirty home therefore skipping out on cleaning your former home will not only lessen the chances of it being bought (If you’re selling it) or based on the laws of Karma, one day you will move into a total dump. Do us and your next tenant a favour by following the tips that we’ve placed in this article to ensure that their moving into something remotely habitable.

The first thing you should do is order sturdy packing boxes from a moving boxes delivery provider like who will bring the store to your doorstep. You can use the cardboard boxes for both the items you wish to store, items you wish to donate to a cause or garbage destined for the dump. After you’ve packed your items in the packing boxes bring them to an access area where you can easily reach the truck from. Please do not put it on the second floor of your home because it would only take more of your valuable time during the move if you have to keep climbing flights of stairs.

After clearing the room with all the different furniture and items, start cleaning the walls with a damp rag and a broom for those hard to reach dirt or spider webs. To get hard to remove stains out, we suggest using a sponge or rag dipped in warm soapy water. You can use an industrial cleaner but depending on the material of your wall, you may end up damaging its finish.
The next thing is to sweep the floor or vacuum the floor. This removes the larger particles of dirt and grime that have built up underneath rugs and corners of the room. After you’ve cleared out the larger pieces of dirt, mop the floor to clear up any residual stains.

  1. Put heavy items, like books, in small boxes; light items, like linens and pillows, in bigger ones. And if you’re loading the truck yourself, pack heavier packing boxes first, toward the front of the truck, for balance. Don’t leave empty spaces in the boxes.
